The municipality of Bila Voda, adjacent to the Polish border, thus being a direct neighbour of Złoty Stok. Both places are situated in the Golden mountains range. This small inconspicuous village, however, has a very rich and intricate past. Its history, just like in Złoty Stok, has been passed through the great figures of Europe like Karl von Dittersdorf, Princess Marianna Orańska or Jacob von Lichtensten-Kastelkom. This is where the magnificent monastery and school building of the Piarist foundation in Silesia was built, which we can admire on the tourist route. Next to the monastery there is the church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary with rich Baroque interiors. The altar in the church is a real treat, because it is… painted, giving the impression that it exists in a traditional form for churches. In the middle part of the altar there is a sculpture of the Madonna made around 1510 by Wit Stwosz.
A cultural monument in Bila Voda is also a cemetery with a small chapel. It is at this cemetery that the mass grave of Auschwitz Birkenau prisoners who participated in the „Death March” is located. The prepared tourist route will also take you to the manor residence of Princess Marianne of Orange.
Bila Voda has very attractive places for hiking, which we recommend. On the route you will come across a quarry, the Stations of the Cross and old rural settlements.
